Research Overview

We are interested in using microbiome, omics and applied microbiology (i.e. targeted gene sequencing, metagenomic sequencing, whole genome sequencing, transcriptomics, metabolome, etc.) to better understand the species-species interaction and how microbial communities play roles in different environmental niches including humans without and with diseases, humans without and with probiotic supplementations, different organs in humans, animal health, environmental health, diets, and the extreme conditions, such as Artic and Antarctic, and Space. We are also combining culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches to finding sustainable strategies for environmental restoration, organic agriculture, and health product. Together, the researches help resolve environmental and public health problems.
